Evening girls, late as usual on parade again.
Spent most of the day catching up with chores and generally wasting time. Had to dash out to Waitrose at 5pm as found all cupboards empty, and even I couldn't live on fresh air....do try though.

Hello Helen, so lovely to see you back with us. I have been asking how you are and if you were settled in your new home. Have you moved far from your old house and are you happy?

Hi Joan, I have three what? We seem to be on different wave lengths again. Shocked

Nothing on the box as usual tonight, so back to the book. Have a nice evening.

Morning all, quite chilly here in a morning...brrrrr.

Sandra, I love the photo, it reminds me of my old home. My father was always pottering in the home vegetable garden, just like the chap in the photograph, with my mother always busy nearby.  No boys in the family....just me, that was enough for anyone. We even had Labradors, and my little West Highland Terrier, I called Tiny,  and of course cats.....my passion.  I can even remember the display of flowers......I think. Hollyhocks, Gladioli, hundreds of Marigolds....spread like weeds.  Dozens of fruit trees, delicious Victoria plums....I can still remember the fabulous taste, never tasted any so good since then. Apples, pears, gooseberry's, red currents....the list goes on and on.

Rambling again, but thanks for the trip down memory lane....feel quite sad it has all gone forever.

Nothing planned for today, must catch up on watering and then back to sorting out tip of house......fat chance. Rolling Eyes

Evening all, just popping in before diving into the bath to rest weary limbs. Spent the day decimating shrubs in garden...oh dear, will probably regret it, but they will meet in the middle of lawn if I don't wield the clippers. Just moved the hose spray thingy and soaked myself......gosh it really was powerful....and wet.

Have a nice evening all.

Good morning all,
I dashed off last night after cleaning the ashtrays, tidying the room, switching off the lights, closing and locking the door,  and forgot to explain why this thread has been temporary closed.

As most of the previous occupants have either got lost, or are still on summer holidays we have few members posting on this chat thread. It was originally intended for the puffing fraternity to sit and congregate together,  have a cup of tea and a puff in peace, without going outside in the freezing cold. Very Happy

Many thanks to those who continued to visit...... Koko, Joan, Lillian, Sandra, Boots, Jeff, Bollie and many more. I asked for feed back a few weeks ago, about joining in with the other chat threads....and that is what we intend to do.

Koko and Joan, thank you for your wonderful pictures.....they have given us all so much pleasure.

So for the time being,  this room will be under refurbishment and remain locked (nothing to do with the fact I have lost the key) Very Happy Very Happy Wink Rolling Eyes

Many thanks for all your contributions.

Tootle pip for now,

June and Co.  cat cat xx

Greetings friends,

I have unlocked the door, just in case our friends decide to come back, from their various adventures and pay us a visit.

Room is all fresh and repainted, with new chairs and tables. Fire is set, and ashtrays polished.

Sit down by the fire, and help yourselves to a refreshing cup of tea....kettle just boiled. Very Happy

Cheers,

June

Good morning Fleur-Rose, you are certainly an early bird, are you having trouble sleeping?

Must admit I was very surprised to see This Old thread open, I thought I had locked it many years ago. Actually it is rather nice to use it again, so I will leave it open for the time being.

You are very welcome, we never have too many ashtrays and the kettle is always boiling.

Welcome Jane. I won't need any ashtrays but a decaff coffee or peppermint tea would be good. Enjoy your day. Very Happy

Anyway, Angel and Fleur Rose, good morning wherever we are.

Oh, I see Bollie is posting and June, in 2013. Am I having Vertigo again.

Well good afternoon, Barbara I don't smoke, ashtray is for my sweet wrappers lol. Off to watch granddaughter compete in horse jumping competition this afternoon. Daughter just cleaned all the tack and I noticed she has used my dish brush. Teach me to leave things lying around. I returned the keys to my house yesterday, rather sad as been there 3 and half years. Just waiting to move into house round here. Told Granddaughter would be my last move and she replied well until you go into a care home. Wasn't sure how to respond. My daughter however, said that would never happen as I will have to move back in with them as they would love a stair lift and use of a wheelchair!

I have been so busy lately that haven't got time to get old it is lovely being amongst young people. Oh yes start volunteering a week on Tuesday for the homeless was supposed to start this Tuesday but granddaughters birthday and me being me and excitable don't want to miss a minute of her day. Just off to wrap up warm. Speak later/ x
